6/22/2010 - Man in Hospital Scrubs Steals 2 Rolex Watches
On Monday June 7, 2010 at around 3:31 PM a black male wearing a dark colored baseball cap, green hospital scrubs, and dark tennis shoes entered Alter`s Gem Jewelry located at 3155 Dowlen Road. He asked to see a certain Rolex watch. The suspect tried on one watch and then another. When the clerk placed the first watch down on the counter and starting helping him with the other watch he grabbed both watches and ran out of the store. He was last seen running through the HEB parking lot to a white four door vehicle. The watches were valued in the tens of thousands of dollars.

6/4/2010 - Deceased Person Identified - Investigators are Treating as Homicide
A missing person, Darrell LaFleur, was reported by family members Tuesday, June 2, 2010. On June 3, 2010, Detectives and Officers were following up on the missing person and located the body of a deceased black male just off the roadway in the 1900 block of Hemlock Street. The body was transported to the Jefferson County Morgue where an autopsy was performed.
The deceased person was identified as Darrell LaFleur, black male, 50 years old. Detectives are treating the case as a homicide. Investigators are asking for anyone with information about this crime to contact the Beaumont Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at 409-880-3830 or Beaumont Crime Stoppers at 409-833-TIPS. The investigation is ongoing.

This week Beaumont crime stoppers needs your help with an unsolved auto theft and auto burglaries that occurred over Easter weekend at Interstate Batteries located at 6008 College Street in Beaumont.
On April 3rd, 2010 at around 4:30 am, an officer on patrol discovered the theft. Suspects gained entry into the secured yard by cutting a hole in the fence. Once inside, the suspects removed batteries from multiple work trucks and loaded them onto another work truck, a white 1999 GMC 3500 flatbed truck bearing Texas license plate 99FZR6. The suspects stole the truck and drove it through the locked gate and left the area on College Street.
The suspects stole approximately 100 batteries and the work truck has not been recovered.

On April 7th, 2010 a citizen reported the burglary of a house in the 7100 block of Palmetto Drive. The house belonged to a relative who recently passed away. The actors broke into the house and stole several items including a credit card, a safe and a vehicle from the garage. The stolen vehicle was later found abandoned in the parking lot of Lowe`s Home Improvement Store located at 4120 Dowlen Road. Detectives learned the credit card was used at Lowe`s shortly after the burglary to buy a hammer to possibly open the safe. Video cameras show 2 black males, one wearing a black baseball cap, a white T-shirt, and black shorts, the other is wearing a black baseball cap, black T-shirt, and blue jeans.

On 05-01-2010 at 4:00 PM the victim`s vehicle was burglarized a Dillards at Parkdale Mall. Several items taken including items that had just purchased and a purse. There were several credit cards in the purse. When the victim called to cancel their credit cards they learned they had already been used at Macy`s Department Store also at Parkdale Mall. Video shows a black male wearing a white T-shirt making a purchase using the stolen credit card.

On 02-26-2010 the victim reported to the Beaumont Police that someone had stolen their checks. They learned that 2 of them were passed at Walmart here in Beaumont totaling almost $700. Surveillance cameras record a black male, wearing a tan T-shirt and faded jeans, entering the store, passing a check at one of the registers and then exiting the store.
During the investigation detectives learned the checks were stolen while the victim was seeking treatment at a medical clinic.

On Monday April 12th, 2010 at 10:53 PM 2 black males entered the Sunshine Store located at 3310 Concord displaying a handgun demanding money. One of the suspects was armed with a small black revolver pistol. They took money and cigarettes. The suspect who was not armed threw a full can of soda at another employee standing in the back of the store. The suspects fled on foot East toward Pope Street.
Suspect #1 is described as a 20 years old black male, wearing a gray hooded jacket and was armed with a small revolver pistol.
Suspect #2 is described as a black male, wearing all black with a white T-shirt over his face.

On March 12th, 2010 a woman reported to the police that someone had stolen her wallet from her office in the 700 block of Hospital Drive. She later learned several unauthorized charges were made to her one of her credit cards at the Fastlane Convenience store located at IH-10 service road and Laurel Avenue.
Video from the office building shows a 40 to 50 year old black male with receding hairline, wearing a brown T-shirt and blue jeans prowling several offices in the complex. Video from the store shows the same black male using the credit card. It also shows him driving an older model green Chevy custom van. Detectives think this maybe the same man shown on Crime of the Week last week.
